Orbii – Smart and Safe Home Security Made Easy

A staggering 83% of homes within the United States do not have home security systems installed. That is an estimated 106 million homes. With the cost of installing a home security system being far less than the cost of recovering from a burglary, 87% of burglaries are considered preventable. Most burglars will first assess whether or not a home has a home security system installed before attempting to break in. The majority of burglars will not attempt to burglarize a home with a home security system. Most police officials believe that home monitoring systems help deter burglary attempts and therefore reduce the chances of your home falling victim to violence.

While having a home security system installed will most likely decrease your chances of a burglary occurring, there might be a major flaw with your current system. Current cameras have limited viewing angles, coverage, and mobility. That is where Orbii comes in. Orbii is a cost-effective new home security solution. It is an orb shaped, drivable, internet connected camera that a user can drive from room to room. Orbii contains a high-definition camera and microphone intended to augment your existing security system. It can be accessed from any mobile device, tablet, or computer and can connect with other smart systems in your home like a smart thermostat to adjust the temperature. Orbii charges via a charging dock and connects to Wi-Fi.

The device is equipped with motion detectors, sound sensors, and even carbon monoxide sensors to ensure your home is safe at all times. If one of its many sensors or alarms is set off, Orbii will call a designated phone number to alert you of the event. The longer you use Orbii, the better the device will learn its surroundings, therefore becoming more effective. Orbii uses smart monitoring to make patrolling your home easy. Orbii is also designed with interchangeable panels to upgrade the device to include environmental and atmospheric sensors, allowing firefighters, police officers, and hazmat teams to drive it into dangerous sites during rescue operations. Orbii is in the pre-production phase and is expected to hit mass production by late 2017. Read more about Orbii.
